Several adult members from Ilkley Karate Club attempted the Yorkshire Tough Mudder on Saturday and Sunday battling through the ten and half mile course with over 20 plus obstacles and muddy terrain to make it over the finishing line after being zapped trying to evade dangling electricity cables.
None of the club members had attempted anything like this before which proved to be a combination of fun, team work and pure determination.
The team had to overcome numerous hills, ice cold water, muddy fields, tear gas, electricity and other gruelling obstacles to earn the coveted Tough Mudder headband and T-shirt.
Club members who took part were; instructor Mark Outterside, black belts Vani Midgley, Andrew Johnston and Phil Jamieson, brown belts Andy Papworth Tracy Rayner and junior grade Lisa Stead.
Members have since signed up for 2016 already. Fancy joining them next year, then get in touch with Phil Jamieson.
